DD's burn from Rush salon (photo attached)

DD went to Rush yesterday to have her hair dyed. She thought her neck was hurt, but didn't realise until I just now came back from work that she's been burnt pretty badly. She says they put 9%/30 vol on her scalp but no barrier cream. Should she go back in tomorrow and complain? If so, what should she say?

Ouch! She definitely needs to let them know.

TantricTwist · 29/05/2019 21:04

All decent hairdressers esp those in a chain should do a patch test 24 hours or so in advance. Did they do that?

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 29/05/2019 21:04

That’s awful!

MyNameIsRachel · 29/05/2019 21:06

Go to the doctors first - get confirmation it was from the hairdye first.
I’m a hairdresser

If no patch test they are in serious trouble

LonginesPrime · 29/05/2019 21:06

Definitely complain - that looks serious.

On the plus side, the colour's amazing!

IloveJudgeJudy · 29/05/2019 21:11

Yes, they did a patch test first. And thank you. The colour is great. DD has suffered greatly with her mental health over the past few years and she says the hair colour has given her a real boost.

I think she's going to just tell them tomorrow and see what they say. I'll keep you updated.

They must have bleached it first then pinked it.
Please make sure a doc takes a look though may need special cream

IloveJudgeJudy · 29/05/2019 21:25

@MyNameIsRachel Really? You think she should visit the dr? I just put some Germolene on it tonight.

It does look quite bad, I think I would.

MyNameIsRachel · 29/05/2019 21:47

I mean sorry it wont kill her but it could scar

IloveJudgeJudy · 29/05/2019 22:11

I did think it might scar. I don't really know how to prevent that. We'll just wait and see what the salon says tomorrow.

DD has just come back from Rush. They apologised immediately, gave her a care package and a free regrowth. She's happy with that, especially as she didn't have to fight for it. She's going to the doctor at 4pm today (I've no idea how she got an appointment so quickly). I'll let you know what the doctor says.

Good at least they apologised and she's seeing the doctor. I hope it goes away soon
