Not sure what to do about this situation so any advice welcome. My neighbour is a housing association tenant and has lived there for over a year. He told me he had separated from his partner and has custody of his four children, which is why he was allocated the house (3 beds).
Only one of the children lives there part-time, the others we have seen occasionally. He doesn't seem to work and often disappears for days at a time. The garden hasn't been touched in a year and is now overgrown and full of junk, house clearance stuff. Housing officer has been to look and is 'encouraging ' him to tidy up.
He has told me that he is now on the waiting list for a neighbouring council housing list because they don't know he already has a housing association property and think he still lives in a one-bed private flat. I told him I thought that was housing fraud and he could be in trouble. He shrugged. AIBU to be angry that he is taking the mickey while other people have to wait years?
