To think it’s quite rude?

Drove 1hour in the car today to see an old friend I haven’t seen in years, for various reasons. We didn’t do much because she was hungover and had stayed out till 4am last night on the piss, ans therefore wasn’t up to doing a whole lot.

AIBU to think this was quite rude? I was looking forward to spending a bit of time with my friend, and deliberatedly didn’t go out last night so we could spend a nice day together today. I’m really disappointed that she obviously doesn’t feel the same.

Yup, that's rude. Up to her what she does but knowing a friend is coming down to see her she should have prioritised that and not got shitfaced.

Thank you, that’s what I think too. I’m trying not to be pissed off, but....humph.

It is a bit rude yeah. I can't really judge though, I've had great intentions to spend the day with a friend before then got carried away with an unexpectedly great night the night before and then been feeling a bit sorry for myself the next day.
If it's a one off I'd be giving her a pass, most people have gotten a bit carried away at one point of another.

That is rude and inconsiderate. I'd have been quite hurt by that.

My friend did this once, she stayed out the full day but was clearly hanging. We had to eat somewhere different than planned as she couldn't tolerate the smell of the food.
6 weeks later she rang to say she was pregnant. The hangover story was a cover up.

Yes Dh and I drove to see family hundreds of miles away. I’m disabled and chronically ill. Was going through a good health patch otherwise wouldn’t have managed it. The guy got so wasted that night that he was too ill to go out with us the next day. Day 3 husband and wife were full on nasty about me within earshot because I was unwell and exhausted. We got in the car and drove home.
