My body would not decide to give up on me and succumb to lurgy because I have some time off work Sad
Feels like every bloody time
Last bank holiday I had a stomach upset
This time I've booked time off till midweek and have sinusitis and a sore throat
I just want a nice few relaxed days off
Instead I'm mainlining on painkillers and decongestant and can barely move my head
Is it just me
Forgive the pity party

If I even consider a day off I get sick. Guaranteed. I spend every Christmas, holiday abroad, bank holiday sick and on antibiotics

OMG, I feel you all!

I've literally had the experience of coming down with a full-blown lurgy as I turn my housekey in the lock on a Friday night.

SO annoying.

Yep Easter bank holiday stomach bug, first may bank holiday horrible head cold and this weekend horrible head cold. I’ve got my first European holiday booked for 8 years soon and I’m just know I’ll be ill for that too

I have always had this, the minute I begin a holiday (even one stay at home) I would get ill. I saw an osteopath about 4 months ago and am yet to get ill and I've been on three holidays in that time - he explained why I would get ill and that with his help it would stop, and it has. Worth a try?

I got appendicitis at the start of a half term week when I was 13. Gutted!

Is it because youre so worn down? Could you do some preparation and eat super healthy food the week before your holiday?

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 26/05/2019 15:49

Usually I would think it's because I'm exhausted and run down but I've managed a few shorter weeks in work recently, tried to get plenty of fresh air and exercise and eat reasonably well
Managed a week at Easter in one piece and that was nothing short of a miracle Grin
