Aibu to feel rattled

I was letting the cat out via the window today (flat, no cat flap) & was wearing a baggy t-shirt & knickers, as it's lovely hot day. Low window so might be able to see I was only in that. Anyway, I was shutting window a guy walked past, did a double take & stopped, staring. I put the blinds back down & thought just a nosey passerby. 5mins later the front doorbell went. I didn't answer, thinking it was prob for next door . Then a knock on my window, so sighing, I found my shorts & answered door. It was same guy. He said 'is this Carol's house'? I said no & hurriedly shut door. I'm worried now as the 2 other flats keep leaving the main door on the latch despite discussions re safety . I do have a CC TV sticker & fake camera by my window but still feel rattled. I've seen him since, with a woman, walking up the other side of the road, and so worried i'll come across him again. He's built like a tank & well over 6feet so hard to miss: & he obv wasn't bothered by the v obvious CC TV stuff.

Maybe he thought you were someone else? Or maybe he's unwell and confused. Was he paying your home any attention when you saw him walking back down the other side? Is he someone you've seen around before?
If you're on good terms with your neighbours I would mention it to them and swap numbers if you haven't already, just so you've got someone on hand close by if need be.

That would freak me out too OP. But unfortunately mumsnet might not be the best place to post- most people on here appear to think that you have no need to be concerned about someone unless they’re about to stab you Hmm
