That this is crap customer service from very?

I ordered a pair of quite expensive trainers yesterday from very and waited in today (couldn't give me a time slot!) for them to be delivered only to check the tracking at 2pm to realise that they had been returned to sender by yodel. I rang very and they said they had notified the courier not to deliver the item has they had in fact dispatched the wrong item by mistake. I asked if they were going to send me a replacement of the right item and they said no, I had to wait for the money to be refunded back to me first when they arrive back at very and then re order them myself. They were on sale and have now gone back up to full price so I questioned this and he said I would have to make a complaint first to have the price altered to what I paid Hmm. Apparently this is their policy and there is nothing they can do. Aibu that I shouldn't have to go to all this hassle when it isn't my mistake? I am shocked tbh.

So if I want them delivered before the refund for the item I never received I've got to pay for them again.

They are awful. We ordered an arm chair in the boxing sale. Waited 6 weeks. Spent the day at home for its delivery and no chair was delivered. I did get an email to say they will contact me to rearrange which they never did. I rang and my chair was now out of stock and wouldn't be able to deliver it. They did bother to tell me though! They did refund me either had to ask them to do so and I wasted a day at home for a non delivery.

Awful company. I refuse to buy anything from them now.

The advisor on the phone was also really rude, he refused to let me speak to a manager as ' what's the point, he's not going to tell you anything different to me' and insinuated I was looking for compensation, I just want what I bloody ordered!

I’ve never had an issue with very- always been great- I normally do the chat as opposed to ringing them. They have always offered me difference in price back if any item has gone cheaper within 2 weeks of ordering. They also have done that thing where they refund me and I have to re order (and either wait for refund or just pay and then refund come later) but I don’t find that too much of an issue as they’re normally really quick to refund. Annoying for you tho that they sent you wrong thing- surprised they realised! X
