Headline on the front page of tomorrow's Metro. I don't think they would do this with a male Prime Minister somehow...

Or is this headline awful!

Fuck sake that is ridiculous.

floraloctopus · 23/05/2019 23:39

It's about what I'd expect from a rubbishy tabloid.

Derpess · 23/05/2019 23:41

That is just awful.

Medievalist · 23/05/2019 23:42

DISGRACEFUL

Ruralretreating · 23/05/2019 23:42

That’s outrageous.

mellongoose · 23/05/2019 23:48

Tbf they probably would have done with Cherie and Tony.

DroningOn · 23/05/2019 23:50

Isn't it a reference to Dennis Thatcher who was the one who finally convinced Maggie it was all over when she resigned?

Badbilly · 23/05/2019 23:57

Isn't it a reference to Dennis Thatcher who was the one who finally convinced Maggie it was all over when she resigned?

I believe it is, it even got a mention on Radio 4 this morning, when something similar was mentioned in reference to Dennis eventually persuading Maggie to call it a day.

It's sexist shite. It makes me so angry that women are still having to put up with crap like this in 2019.

Genevieva · 24/05/2019 00:22

While I understand your point, I think her husband has had a greater influence on her than her entire cabinet. At the moment both our major political parties are led by tinpot dictators who refuse to resign, even when they know they are deeply unpopular. She won't listen to her own MPs and she won't listen to the electorate when they deliver her the worst Conservative share of the vote in parliamentary history.

Medievalist · 24/05/2019 05:36

I think her husband has had a greater influence on her than her entire cabinet.

Clearly this isn't the case.

herculepoirot2 · 24/05/2019 05:56

It’s infuriating. The DM had a headline last night saying Mr. May needed to “step in” but they changed it. As if the same headline would have been used with Sarah, Cherie, Samantha etc. Pure sexism.

user1498581287 · 24/05/2019 08:10

It's auful, really sexist.

I've also noticed another thing the press do-particularly the hideous daily mail- which is if they are annoyed with her-they put a bad angle/ almost slightly distorted looking picture of her. I've noticed this a few times. They definitely do it- it's like they think they can punish a woman politician, by having a not good photo. The mail do this-I think the sun does, too.

I'm not a Tory- I'm one of those labour voters the labour party like, because I always vote labour, but I think Theresa May is an attractive looking woman, she's got good features, nice colouring etc. So, I think I am quite an unbiased opinion , on the fact that -although I don't agree with her politically, I do think she is nice-looking woman and it annoys me , when I've really noticed sometimes, papers clearly using really crap pictures of her, to be spiteful.

I quite like taking photographs, mainly landscape, but I'm aware how much you can mess about with pictures in editing, short of photoshopping, that can make them look better or worse, also how much which picture you pick, out of several, makes a difference.

Notice what picture the mail use of her , next time they're not happy with her. They deliberately do a bad picture, in a way I've never noticed them do with a male politician, and it is so annoying and sneaky/manipulative, as well as sexist.

EleanorReally · 24/05/2019 08:12

appalling

Wakemeuuuup · 24/05/2019 09:13

I'm not a fan of hers but this is disgusting. Telling him to put her in her place
