You ladies were awesome with your return to work wardrobe suggestions! Now I need summer swimwear help! Now we have money in rather than just squandering savings we’re off to find the sunshine- I need plus size swimwear that will make me look relaxed not like a seal escaping a sack.
Help!
(Size 22, 5ft 4, no bum large tummy) thank you thank you! Ps I know I am totally bu to put this in Aibu, but life is annoying like that!

Try the swim dresses in Bonmarche, there are quite good at hiding your tummy. Reasonable cost as well, around £25, and they are good quality.

I bought this for my holidays and it’s fab, the one I got had removable straps too. It’s a bit shit to swim in as it rises up, but it was fine for mucking about in the pool with the kids. If you were a serious swimmer it would be rubbish

Watching with interest. I'm the same height and size as you and off to the sun in July.
Reading another thread, swim dresses were said to be a big no. I'm tempted because they'll cover my huge stomach but I've really no idea what to wear.

Lands end plain black cossie and nice sarong

Fruitbatdancer · 23/05/2019 21:43

I am definitely going to messing about in water with kids rather than doing laps! Although probably should be!

Matalan have some lovely plus sized swimsuits at a reasonable price. My mother bought a lovely one from there for her hols last year in a size 22. It was a plain black one with a little bit of runching around the bust and atiny little skirt which just covered her groin area nicely. I think she only paid around £15 for it. It was very slimming and not in the least bit 'granny'ish' i thought.
She loved it so much that she bought a red one too.
Try Yours clothing too, they do plus size ladies swimwear.

This is good, but I would size up slightly.

I bought a couple of this shape last year. I’m very conscious of my tum and they hang quite nicely

Wear what you feel good in . Be it a bikini or a swim dress . Your body and your choice

I have same problem made worse with bust that no internal cup stands a chance of keeping the puppies in place!

Here’s my extensively shopped opinion on best plus size swimwear;

  1. Panache swimsuit with proper hidden internal bra - really keeps boobies up but price tag £30-70. Suggest past season on EBay for greatly reduced price
  2. Next - bandeau drap style in black @£32. Very good value, comfortable and flattering on. Only available online. Can’t fully support my 40G bust but
  3. Swimbra - absolutely changes look of saggy bust in swimsuit
  4. Biba at House of Fraser.

Hope that helps x

I’m a big fan of swim bras. Suits just don’t have enough support. elomi makes really nice ones.

myfingersarenotsogreen · 24/05/2019 22:12

I’ve given up with swim suits. A good sports bra under a rash vest and swim leggings! Actually enjoy going to the pool now. I send most of my time messing about in 50 cm of water with DS so I don’t want to be worrying about the viewing gallery!

greentreeseverywhere · 24/05/2019 22:17

I found this website has some good and different styles

I'm a size 20, 5' 4". Bought the Magisculpt Tummytuck swimsuit in blackberry colour from Simply Be recently. I got the long one as I have G cup boobs, so regular length can be tight. Wore in on holiday last week. And it is AWESOME!! It is so flattering and a pretty colour. It even supports the boobies in some miracle of unfeasibly small bits of foam padding. Go and buy one now :-D

stucknoue · 25/05/2019 08:07

I bought mine from figleaves, the swim suit has a bra built in and designed for e cupped ladies.

BertrandRussell · 25/05/2019 08:12

A couple of years ago we went on holiday to a place with no shops, and I forgot to pack a swimsuit. So I swam in leggings and a t shirt. It was amazingly liberating!

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 25/05/2019 08:29

I buy my swimwear from Bravissimo as it comes with underwiring which is a must...
