Pampers ridiculously wasteful campaign

Seen on social media that pampers are working with social influencers and bloggers to do the #cheektest- basically they fill one pampers nappy and one usual brand nappy with a cup of water, hold it up to their face to see how dry it is. I can’t believe how wasteful this is!

It’s caused an argument between cloth nappy and disposable nappy users as the people doing the test have been quite defensive of any comments calling out how wasteful this is and how those nappies will end up in landfill, completely missing the point that every time someone does this test the nappies are used completely unnecessarily.
Argh! It’s just insane.

YANBU. If they were so confident in their claims surely you could hold up a piss-filled nappy instead and it would feel dry? At least then it’s not wasted Grin

Totally agree. Also, I don't like the promotion of this idea that our children should feel 100% dry - surely that's a big factor in why children are so late to potty train these days (which itself also causes more landfill from disposables).

@Stuckforthefourthtime totally agree! Toilet training seems to be harder when children don't have the uncomfortable feeling of being wet. There's no incentive to get out of nappies imo.

I think what makes it worse is the response from the pampers testers- really aggressive bullyish and personal comments back to people just for highlighting the waste of 2 unused nappies being chucked (not the fact that they were using disposables)
But yes agree that the dry thing is weird and can see how this would delay potty training!
