DP's birthday is Friday. I want to make it a good one - we've just got back from holiday (engaged!!! Grin.

I thought I was paying 70% of a joint present from a few of his close friends, too, but there's been an issue so that's off the cards. I can't really afford to pay for it all myself even if I could source another one. My back-up present was to book a weekend away somewhere he's wanted to go for a while, but he's just about to start a new job, so I'd probably need to leave the actual booking until after he's done that...

We have a theme of special restaurants so I'm taking him to one on the Friday night, and we've got two nights in a hotel. I've booked massages for Saturday. I'll get him a cake from somewhere...

What could I get him to actually open? He likes a particular rum but we tend to have it anyway, as we both like it. He's got loads of books to read. I bought him a curry subscription as he loves to cook for Christmas, but he hasn't used it yet... He's more of an experience type of person. Gahh this is hard!

Last year I got him tickets to three gigs which he loved, the year before I got him a Sonos which again seemed to go down well...

Could you print a sort of mock up ticket for the place you want to take him, and explain you'll be booking it as soon as it's clear when he's able to go.

You. Buy some lingerie and let him know it exists but not when you'll wear it.
He won't even remember the other gifts

you mean something like that? Grin
