To think we should postpone rollout of 5G....

SunsetBunny · 20/05/2019 17:05

.... until we know more about the potential health implications.
I feel that our government is blindly pushing ahead with the rollout of 5G under pressure from telecoms services, while ignoring potential negative health effects.

Meanwhile in Brussels, they have halted the rollout for these very reasons...

And not so long ago people were ridiculed for voicing concerns about street lights being used to accommodate 5G transmitters....

I wish people could be as enthusiastic about this as they are about a man having milkshake thrown over him!

How do you suggest we get the government to reconsider/ postpone? Everyone love their own health but I think lot of people are disheartened by the way the country is run and feel voice less.

The poor are being vilified, the elderly have their incontinence pads rationed and the sick are being beaten by post code lottery and being refused life saving medicen. Our planet is slowly being killed. Our wonderful education system is slowly being destroyed.

SunsetBunny · 20/05/2019 22:11

I’m not sure Number3or4, but it can only be a good thing to try and raise awareness of the issues, so that when people are faced with the prospect of having a transmitter put up outside their house they’re in a position to object rather than being on the back foot.

The information is out there and the potential risks are in the public domain, it just seems as though someone has decided to ignore them.

A few things...

What are the negatives of 5G posts?

Why do we need them anyway? My 4G connection does everything I want...

Shouldn't we be increasing the areas that have poor coverage anyway, before making our PCs run a tiny bit faster?

I admit I need to be educated here... Smile

Hithere12 · 21/05/2019 14:15

Yes 😭 I’ve read a lot about EMF damage and everything so far points to 4G being terrible so god only knows that 5G will be like.

We are all guinea pigs to this stuff and the companies don’t give a crap about the health risks as long as they’re making £££££££££

mummymeister · 21/05/2019 14:17

the products these companies produce are driven by public demand pure and simple. if people didnt want really fast internet access absolutely everywhere they go because they cant live without it then companies wouldnt make a profit and therefore wouldnt introduce ever newer technology.

Apileofballyhoo · 21/05/2019 14:21

I'm with you, OP. I'm quite happy with 3G when I'm out and about tbh. Apparently we need it for the internet of things. I don't really want my fridge to order milk or whatever. It's just more consumerism.

HeyDuggeesCakeBadge · 21/05/2019 15:02

Couldn't agree more OP. It's scary that they would risk citizens health to appease corporations but it's always been the case.

I'm not sure how we get them to postpone though, there are so many more pressing things to occupy the minds of citizezns that this is creeping in through the backdoor.

Suiker · 21/05/2019 15:25

From what I've read, and I'm no expert, but it sounds a bit like a scare story not particularly backed up by science.

Suiker · 21/05/2019 15:27

I've also read that it is partly being pushed by the Russians

No one is “demanding” 5G most people were perfectly happy with 3G. The is something that’s being foisted upon us because it’ll make the companies more money. I did not choose to go from 3G to 4G, my phone did it automatically.

Also most people have no idea of the health risks and assume they can trust these companies to not put out anything unsafe.

gamerchick · 21/05/2019 15:34

There's a discussion happening on 15 June in Gateshead if you're worried OP. David Icke is doing a Q&A. It's only 5 1/2 hours long. Drop in the ocean when it comes to stopping the human race turning into transmitters after being soaked in chemtrails to prepare us.

Hithere12 · 21/05/2019 15:45

A good way to avoid damage from your phone from 4G/5G is to use it in airplane mode but with WiFi on. So you can still use iMessage and internet with out the phone searching for 4G every three seconds.

Hadalifeonce · 21/05/2019 15:49

Nobody has mentioned the involvement of China thus far; even though our allies are not allowing their involvement due to security issues.

Imoen · 21/05/2019 15:49

I would not try to promote David Icke as a speaker to give anything credibility!

Grin
marvellousnightforamooncup · 21/05/2019 15:52

I'm of the belief that just because you can doesn't mean you should. I see no need for 5G and would happily go back to my old 3310. I'm not sure I need a restockable fridge or a self driving car. I don't want our power supplies and traffic lights to be hackable by foreign governments.

Suiker · 21/05/2019 16:06

David Icke! I think that demonstrates my point

PtarmiganBiscuit · 21/05/2019 16:08

David Icke! Yep, that well known scientist.....

PtarmiganBiscuit · 21/05/2019 16:09

The Huawei issue is about a trade war...not safety or spying.

Yeah but those of us that have one are going to suffer when Google and Android stop supporting it. I'm annoyed. It's a bloody good phone.

Aw why the downer on David Icke? He's a great man Grin (I got a leaflet shoved in my hand last week, it made me laugh)

SunsetBunny · 21/05/2019 17:09

Nevermind David Icke, there are scores of other doctors, scientists and educated people who have openly expressed their concerns
www.5gappeal.eu/about/

sounds a bit like a scare story not particularly backed up by science.
A scare story that not many people know about ? If anything people are more likely to want to brush it off as a scare story because that’s easier and more convenient.

the products these companies produce are driven by public demand pure and simple.
No they’re not, the companies are driven by what they think they can try and convince us we need and what they can sell us.
I didn’t ask for a ‘smart’ washing machine that I can switch on remotely, oh as long as I’ve already filled it myself.
I don’t need a bulb that’s not activated by a switch.
I certainly don’t need a ‘smart’ meter.
I could go on....

Customers aren’t demanding these things, they’re instigated by companies who either want to make or save money.
