When I was looking for a dress my colour criterion was blue. It looks blue in the pictures, I think, but has just been delivered and both the zip and lining are black as far as I can tell. It would be perfect for an occasion coming up, but not if it is black.
I am going to have to send it back, aren't I?

Have you placed it next to something clearly black? You can usually tell then.

Theonewiththecat · 20/05/2019 11:05

Looking at the pic. I would say its black.

Looking at the picture I would say it’s blue though, very dark blue though. If there is doubt though and you feel black is inappropriate then I wouldn’t wear it.

BarbaraofSevillle · 20/05/2019 11:12

It looks clearly black in the pictures on my screen, but I don't understand why a very dark blue and cream dress would be appropriate, but not one that's black and cream?

ILoveMaxiBondi · 20/05/2019 11:14

Yes but because it’s hideous and flattering to no-one, not because it’s black. There are much nicer, blue, dresses out there for you. Wink

DoNotBlameMeIVotedRemain · 20/05/2019 11:15

It's beautiful! It is black though. Why does it matter?

TheChippendenSpook · 20/05/2019 11:21

It looks dark blue if you look at it for a really really long time!

TheChippendenSpook · 20/05/2019 11:22

Actually, the top half looks dark blue and the bottom half looks black Confused

AryaStarkWolf · 20/05/2019 11:25

Looks more Dark Blue in the picture to me but It could be black, odd that they don't actually say what colour it is in the description

MyDcAreMarvel · 20/05/2019 11:29

It looks blue, is it a maternity dress?

Chowmum · 20/05/2019 11:34

Looks black on my PC. There is a navy blue dress that comes up in the similar items, and there is a clear difference.

The sheen around the bust looks navy. But the close up of the sleeve is clearly black. What’s the problem with black? It’s not a block colour so and you could jazz it up with some bright shoes and bag. The dress isn’t my thing. I’d look like s sack. But if you love it.....

LemonTT · 20/05/2019 11:44

You can only tell by placing it next to something black.

Black and white ok for most occasions I can think of.

I agree it’s not a great style, it’s shapeless. Unless you are thin and leggy it will make you look small and dumpy. The model looks pregnant. Apologies if your are looking for maternity.

NoSauce · 20/05/2019 11:47

Looks blue to me!

DontCallMeShitley · 20/05/2019 12:05

Very dark blue.

What is on the inside labels? Sometimes the one sewn in the side has an indication of colour, may not say 'navy' but some other word for blue. Or ask the company. If they say it is blue then you can wear it.
