To absolutely HATE dancing?

I’m off to a party tonight and yet again it’ll be full of people dancing and trying to drag me up on the dance floor where I really do not want to be.
Just leave me with a drink and chatting to whoever is around.
I’m useless at it, I’ve got two left feet, no sense of rhythm, and feel like everyone is watching me especially if I’m at an event where I know lots of people.
Everyone else seems to love it though and never looks like an idiot like me when I do?

Every time I see that clip of Bill Gates dancing on stage at the Windows 95 launch a little part of me dies on his behalf. Yeah, and that's one of the reasons I don't like it - because I know I will be judged.

It's not just you! I have never seen my fiancé dance - not once! He always tries to avoid it, last time there was a dance floor he stayed at the edge of it sat at tables and chatting with a drink. He's perfectly sociable, just feels the same as you - 2 left feet, feels like everyone's looking etc. No advice, just wanted to make you feel less alone.

There's lots of things I enjoy that I can appreciate others would find horrifying. People who enjoy dancing however seem to think enjoying it is a universal truth and some people just need encouragement. It's nothing to do with being self conscious, I just have no desire to dance at all, I'd rather run laps!
