Tues night seen worm in my 7 months old babies poo 😫 I'm thinking more than likely he's got them from the 5 year old. Best to treat us all just in case.

So me, dad and baby all take the vermox dose. 5 year old keeps spitting it up, I mix with orange juice but I really don't think he's had a full dose??

Today (Friday) see couple dead worms in babies nappy, but 5 year olds still alive!!

It's been 3 days if he's had the proper dose would they still be alive??

Thank you so much of you read this thread ❤️❤️

Yes, they can be. It works by basically starving them, so takes a few days. It’s also easy to re-infect each other. You must wipe bums every morning to get rid of the eggs and wash your hands like mad. They are absolute hell, horrible things.

Feel for you, my eldest had these end of last year but they would make her itch like mad at night and no one was getting any sleep!! We managed get rid then they came back again :( sounds awful but I got a liquid version from doctors after she refused to eat the full tablet and basically bribed her with a chocolate bar to have it, don’t forget you need a second dose after two weeks as it only kills the worms not the eggs so any that weren’t alive during first treatment will be killed in the second one.

I’ve found that cutting my LOs fingernails as short as possible has stopped them coming back a third time, as I read the eggs stick under nails and when they put hand to mouth that’s how it begins, yuck!!

Good luck x

Do a deep clean of the bathroom/toilet and clean all the door handles/light switches. Wash all the bedding on a hot wash and wear underwear for bed, for those old enough to wear underwear. Put all the bedding on a hot wash and avoid wafting the sheets around when making beds as it puts the eggs into the air, seperate towels for everyone too and wash them after use. Give toys a wipe over with antibac and give all of the teddies they play with a wash, especially any they sleep with (or do what I did, put them in a bin bag and stick them out in the garage for 2-3 weeks which is long enough for any eggs that are on them to die off).

You can repeat the dose after a week rather than two according to the pharmacist who sold me a jar of Ovex and the liquid stuff is easier to get kids to take but still tastes fairly rank.

I didn't think under 2s could have the medicine?

Thank you guys ❤️

Will definitely repeat the dose, k. Just not sure the 5 year old got a dose.

I went to GP, he said OK for under 2, I wondered cos he's breastfed too so ?? But Dr said it was ok
