To think I can’t get pregnant right now?

So my last period was 17th March.

DP and I get married in 2 weeks and I think it’s been stress (multiple negative pregnancy tests).

We were going to postpone TTC until honeymoon but it happened tonight!!! We’ve both agreed to start as of now and DP is very excited...but I just don’t think it can happen right now given my recent lack of periods.

Can anyone weigh in on this?

You’ve not had periods for 2 months? It’s probably worth seeing your GP, I’d be more worried about that than the TTC - have you lost weight fast in the run up to the wedding?

cannoninD · 17/05/2019 21:01

@panelle

No I’ve maintained weight (healthy BMI) but I also completed a uni degree last week and the combination of the two had me severely stressed. I’ve has irregular periods before but granted have never fully missed one. I’d be due on early next week for my second cycle (usually around 32 days). So I’ve just missed one.

Are you definitely sure you aren't pregnant?

winepls · 17/05/2019 21:05

Sorry just read the test bit. What is your concern if you were pregnant in 2 weeks?

winepls · 17/05/2019 21:06

Unless you know when you ovulate, there's no way of knowing whether you will conceive from this x

cannoninD · 17/05/2019 21:09

But if I haven’t had my period will I have ovulated for the second time?

I had the same thing when I fell pregnant with eldest DS. My periods were all over the place between coming off the pill and there was stress with my job at the time. I didn't have a period for about 4 months before I had spotting which turned out to be implantation bleeding.

bridgetreilly · 17/05/2019 21:11

If your periods are irregular, honestly you could get pregnant at any point.

panelledreverie · 17/05/2019 21:13

It’s impossible to say what’s what without someone scanning you - the problem with irregular is it defies conventional rules of thumb.

winepls · 17/05/2019 21:13

@cannoninD You don't ovulate twice, so do you know you've already ovulated?

panelledreverie · 17/05/2019 21:13

And yes, if you are off schedule, nobody knows when you will have ovulated.

Merryoldgoat · 17/05/2019 21:15

I have regular periods and got pregnant twice when it ‘wouldn’t happen’ - just crack on.

TheAssemblywomen · 17/05/2019 21:17

I hadn't had a period for nearly 3 years (had been on depo jab) and fell pregnant.

Fiveredbricks · 17/05/2019 21:18

If you havent had your period then you havent ovulated yet this cycle, OP

winepls · 18/05/2019 06:55

OP, I used to manually check my cervix myself every day (not during periods though!) for signs of ovulation, when we TTC DD1, as it took a long time. Even now, 15 years on, I could check my cervix & know if I'm likely to be fertile or not. I actually find it really fascinating. www.babycentre.co.uk/x561007/how-do-i-check-my-cervix-for-signs-of-ovulation It won't tell you right now if you've ovulated already, but if you start now, you will know when you do ovulate, if you haven't already! Lots of luck xx
