AIBU about hair (lighthearted)

I had a tough few months last year and didn't get a hair cut, I then thought I might as well grow it a bit longer and donate it for hair wigs for children. My hair is now mostly down my back. I mentioned to dh that I was thinking about getting it cut and he said he loves my hair and think I shouldn't do it. I'm nearly 40 so probably won't grow it this long again.
However DH has amazing long hair, he looks like a romantic poet from the 17th century. He says if I cut mine he might as well get his done. Will we both be stubborn and end up like repunzal?

I don’t get it. Are you saying you’re reconsidering getting yours cut because he’ll cut his if you do?

Yes, and I love his hair, it would be a shame to have it short. Also we've been together nearly 20 years and ive never seen him with properly short hair!

Cut it.
Nearly 40 is still young, plenty of time to regrow it

I don’t see why he ‘might as well’ get his cut if you do. Surely you can make decisions independently?
