Could I really be suffering from vaginal dryness

At 39??!
Something odd has happened this month. My period was a week late and then lasted 3 weeks!
For the last week or so things have been really uncomfortable down there - around the Clitoris and labia. Everything seems to be sort of sticking!! (Sorry!)
It’s really uncomfortable, even sitting down hurts!! I can’t see anything untoward - it just looks sort of red.
I’m going to have to go to the gp aren’t I? Oh the shame!!

Might be thrush but I’ve recently had this problem and once I was diagnosed with diabetes and subsequently controlled it, all the horrible vag symptoms went away.

Treatment for vaginal/vulval thrush, e.g. cream, cream & pessary and/or oral medications can be bought over the counter (without a prescription).
