So not anything to do with the high stakes attached to a school's attainment in SATs/exams :o

I know its never Ofsted to blame, is it.
Have they ever thought it could be the fact that they're pressuring teachers into getting good grades from their students, which ultimately makes teachers put pressure on them.(pupils)
I think Its called the domino effect.
Ofsted need to start understanding. Not all children are academic.

I don’t think the anxiety transmitted by anxious parents ought to be entirely discounted.

There is a problem with accepting that most kids, relatively speaking, aren’t especially bright. Some kids will not, relatively speaking, excel in education.

That’s not a problem in itself, just a statistical reality. The problem is what happens as a result in winner takes all capitalism.

I think it's a vicious circle.
Schools are stressed about results and drops in numbers if they get poor results.
Teachers are stressed because of the above and targets and pay progression.
So kids get pressurised. My DDs school hasn't been that bad tbh apart from one or two staff but some of my friends children have had an awful time at other schools.

No pressure from me. SEN DD has been told she can only do HER best and to ignore the few teachers who have told the assembly that basically their whole life is mapped out by these five weeks. No it's not. Sure it's harder but there are alternatives paths and adult redo chances.
