I have received a pampered package from champneys that i did not order . Its bag with fancy lotions etc inside .The billing adress and delicery adress are both mine . I have no transaction in my cards for this . Asked anyone i could think of if they have send anything and they havent .
Is it likely to be an identity theft ??

Could you have entered any competitions in the last few months?

foreverhanging · 11/05/2019 12:29

Can you call the company and ask? They sometimes have information on when and how it was bought.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 11/05/2019 12:29

Not if they've sent it to your house and paid for it themselves!

Far more likely that it's a mistake or a gift.

MissEliza · 11/05/2019 12:31

Call the company and ask.

anxiousmotherof1 · 11/05/2019 12:32

A gift from who though ?

Have you bought anything from them before so they'd have your details? Could be a mix up with another customer's order. I would ring the company to check.

YorkshireBelle2019 · 11/05/2019 12:33

Cross post, maybe email or try on Monday if no answer.

anxiousmotherof1 · 11/05/2019 12:39

No never bought from them . Very strange

A bit unusual not to have an invoice in there. Have they included returns information like a regular online order would have or is there anything to indicate a gift?

Perhaps it’s from a lover you’ve forgotten you have Grin

Homemadearmy · 11/05/2019 12:48

I received a glossy box this week, which I never ordered. Messaged them and it's a bonus gift from simply be, who I've got a account with.

I received a Wonder Woman costume once - completely out of the blue. Turned out of was from an old friend, living thousands of miles away, who decided I must be Wonder Woman to juggle everything I did (his wife didn’t work after they got married so my very ordinary working mother life was a bit of a revelation to him).

livinglongerwithcalgon · 11/05/2019 13:02

Apparently there’s an increase in the sort of thing happening, strangers ordering stuff to your house but paying for it themselves. It’s actually companies doing it, so that they can make a purchase look genuine and then leave a 5 star review for it.

Sounds a bit odd but apparently it does happen! Not sure Champneys would be in the business of it though, but who knows.

user1474894224 · 11/05/2019 13:06

Odd that the billing address is yours too. Sounds like you have the invoice so it should have the payment method shown...even if it's just the last 4 digits of the card. (Have you been drunk at all recently. 😂)

livinglongerwithcalgon · 11/05/2019 13:08

To be clear though in the case of the companies, it’s not identity theft; they just need to send products to new addresses to be ‘verified’ purchases.

anxiousmotherof1 · 11/05/2019 20:08

@Divebar i dont have a lover unfortunately just a husband ;)

I am hoping the company will be able to answer my questions on monday .

I must say the lotions smell lovely though .
