To wonder why my period is still going!

I normally have my period every 28 days on the nose. They are usually quite heavy and last about 4 days.
This period came about 4 days late, had been much lighter (but not super light) and is now on day 12!)
I’m 40 - is this likely to be hormone related?

I have just created a thread for a similar thing, I am on day 8, had coil removed on 2nd, started as normal following day, and it's still going! Hoping we can both get an answer.

Mine started to get longer 10-14 days or be close together and I had one that lasted 8 weeks in my early 40’s. I had to take progesterone in the end to stop it! I am now in the mini pill and my periods have stopped altogether It’s fantastic.
