TMI but panicking - bleeding but not period.

Hello, posting on this board as I’m unsure I’ll get replies elsewhere at this time of night.

Have just been for a wee, and wiped and there is blood on the tissue, wiped 3-4 more times and blood on it every time.

It’s from the labia, 100% not period blood. Tried having a look several ways, but I either can’t bend far enough, or the rim of my glasses gets in the way of what I’m looking at (can’t see without them). It’s in the crease, next to clitoris best way I can describe.

No known issues, a slight itch when I woke up yesterday but that’s it (thought it might have just been from a fanny wedge in my sleep). I didn’t scratch it though, so haven’t caught it or anything.

First and most common result on google is cancer, panic stricken obviously.

I’ve (been lucky) never had any gyno health issues before. Not had dc, and I’m 27 if that’s relevant.

My gp is closed until Monday, I’m not sure what to doSad

Are you sure you didn’t just break the skin the skin a bit itching and open it back up when you wiped? Is it just little spots on the tissue? I know I’ve had trush before I’ve had a little bit of blood on wiping where the skin must be quite thin and sensitive.

boringlyboring · 11/05/2019 02:43

Thanks for replying, I’ve not itched it so I’m not sure if I’ve caught it.

It’s more than spots, not sure how to quantify it - like a mild nose bleed? Just been dabbing slightly and there’s still some bloodSad

Maybe some kind of fissure or break in the skin? Or a cyst that burst?

Don't google. It never helps.

TheMaddHugger · 11/05/2019 03:06

((((Hugs))) It doesn't sound serious at moment. Irritated skin can 'weep' If you can. get a mirror to help you look. And I find a weak vinegar / water mix on a soft cloth wash helps to calm inflamed skin. If it stings.. You have an open sore somewhere. A pimple may have burst itself. You may have a

Try some sudocrem on wherever it is.

Aquamarine1029 · 11/05/2019 03:13

You need to calm down. It could be a fungal infection. It could be lichen sclerosis. It could very well be a harmless pimple. It could be an ingrown hair that has broken free. Labia cancer is very unlikely. The labia is very vascular so any minor abrasion will bleed more than you realise. Take a deep breath and see your gp in a few days. Everything will be just fine.

OwlBeThere · 11/05/2019 03:14

If it was itchy yesterday you might have had a spot and burst it wiping, bartholin glands are lower than the clitoris but you have lots of glands there, Google is always going to give you terrible outcomes it’s highly unlikely to be anything like that.
Is the blood red? Or darker? Any burning when you wee? Could be a uti. Literally dozens of things more likely than cancer so don’t freak out. Are you in any pain?

steff13 · 11/05/2019 03:24

If it was itchy, you might have scratched it in your sleep.

boringlyboring · 11/05/2019 03:30

Thanks so much everyone. I am calm nowBlush

The blood was bright red, no burning but bit of a sting when wiping. Managed to drag a large mirror out of storage, and had a look. It looks like a small tear (not the volcano sized wound I was expecting)

I normally don’t panic easily, but blood in the middle of night and not being able to see where from really set me off. Thanks again!
