Apologies in advance this isn't as juicy/interesting as it should be but I'm desperate for suggestions!!

I am in the process of applying for jobs/going on many interviews and bought a pair of lovely (fairly low and comfortable) black heeled shoes to look smart in my interviews.

I have a final stage of my dream job coming up next week went to try them and they are a size too big (I didn't realise at the time and quickly tried them on with socks on - smh) so they are too big and have a pretty hefty gap at the back and just fall off my feet when I try to walk - Altho they look lovely and are very comfy!

I bought heel grips and insoles but to no avail - my heels aren't close enough to the backs of the shoes to work!

Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions please??! Thanks

Can't you exchange them for the proper size?

AnneTwackie · 08/05/2019 16:08

Try and fatten up your feet.
Or buy new shoes.

AguerosAngel · 08/05/2019 16:09

Buy new shoes......

QuestionableMouse · 08/05/2019 16:09

Depending on the style you might be able to pad the toes but it's not likely to be very secure.

dudsville · 08/05/2019 16:11

really, really thick socks.

(return the shoes and buy ones in your size)

Insoles!

Every mother's trick for loose shoes!

You can't go to a interview in shoes that are too big with thick socks or stuffed toes! Can you exchange them? If not, you might need to get some new ones.

fordfiesta2019 · 08/05/2019 16:56

Argh these were the responses I was afraid of ha!

Unfortunately I can't wear socks with them they would look silly - and too late to return/exchange them. Gonna have to admit defeat I think. Shame they were really nice!!

If they're too big they're too big. Unfortunately.

I'd give them to charity if you can't return them or exchange them. But check first with the receipt because some places have a lot longer than others. If you donate them to charity someone will get good use out of them hopefully.

Then you can buy a pair that fit properly. TBH you'll feel better at interview in well fitting shoes! Good luck. I hope that you find a pair you like. Good shoes are hard to find!

SaraSidle13 · 08/05/2019 18:38

Sell online. Use the money to buy some that actually fit.

Let's see the shoes.

Waveysnail · 08/05/2019 19:08

Stuff the toes? Woth insoles and heel grip it could work

fieldofwheat · 08/05/2019 19:44

How about wearing socks underneath thick (opaque) tights? If you wear trainer socks then they might not be too visible? Good luck!

Kazzz65 · 08/05/2019 19:50

Stuff the toes with cotton wool so that your heel meets the back of the shoe.
Amazon sell a gel insert to fit in the toe to fit a foot in a size too big shoe, you could do express next day delivery

Kazzz65 · 08/05/2019 19:57

They're called 'sizers' or shoe toe inserts and can make a pair of shoes up to one size too big fit your feet

YorkshireBelle2019 · 08/05/2019 20:05

Tissue or cotton wool in the toes in an emergency should do it.

However, if you can return them but just don't have enough time before your interview, I would say don't wear them outside. Just get a cheap pair to tide you over then you'll be able to get the full use of these nice ones when you get the proper size.
