To want to speak to an actual person at Hermes?!

Graphista · 02/05/2019 18:30

Delivery very late and tracking says nothing more than "it's on it's way" retailer being precious little help either!

Utterly maddening!

I've tried the number given for contacting Hermes but it only offers tracking or signposts to use site or email and the live chat isn't working either.

Next day delivery was paid for it should have been here a week ago!

Can anyone help?

I'm really sorry I can't help .. but I can offer solidarity. I treated myself to some jo malone perfume when I got paid. I never spend any money on myself. I called up jo malone today to chase it as it's 3 days late (and as you say, not a sign of any tracking on the Hermes 'tracking service'. After 20 mins of holding it turns out Hermes have 'lost the order' .. (that's after having sent me a dispatch email' .

How are they still in business? Why do companies chose to use them? Are they just the cheapest or something? If so it must be a false economy as they must mess up so many orders.

If it helps the person at jo malone called Hermes. I think that might be your best bet .ie where you bought the item from. Good luck !

YANBU by any means.

I'm sure you know this but I'll say anyway, your contract is not with Hermes, it is with the retailer. I know you've said that they're not being helpful but they're the people you should be giving absolute hell to not Hermes. Check the terms of your contract with the retailer. It will probably say somewhere in the small print how long you have to wait before they'll refund/send another one. If it doesn't, keep at them (retailer) via phone until they tell you when they're going to send another. Get answers and names of staff when you call. Escalate if necessary.

Use Section 75 if you paid via credit card for an amount over £100. Contact your bank, cancel the payment and get them to chase the retailer. This works in my experience.

I have also in the past claimed against the retailer using the paypal system. I got a full refund in the end.

Good luck they're a bunch of cunts. Customer service in this country is shocking.

Graphista · 02/05/2019 19:02

It's not a big/expensive item but it's making other things difficult to plan.

Plus next day delivery was paid for.

Bloody ridiculous that there's no proper customer service number where you get to speak to a person with either retailer OR Hermes - honestly if I were PM I'd make it law that all publicly operating companies have a customer service number where you can bloody speak to a person! Not doing so is just dodging responsibility!!

Ffs! Now from googling retailer looks dodgy too! It was an item for dd from nastygal - anyone used to dealing with these cowboys? I can't find Ceo info

handslikecowstits · 02/05/2019 19:11

I'd using social media OP. www.nastygal.com/gb/customer-service#folder-cs-folder-contact

handslikecowstits · 02/05/2019 19:14

They do also have a postal address. Burnley- www.nastygal.com/gb/customer-service#folder-cs-folder-legal

DogHairEverywhere · 02/05/2019 19:25

Hahaha speak to someone at hermes hahaha
Good luck with that op!
My heart sinks whenever i see a delivery is due by hermes. I know it definitely won't arrive on time, but that the delivery info will be updated to say firstly, that it has been delivered, then it'll be on its way again, then it'll have been a tried to deliver (even though at the time they claim i will have been at home), then it'll be back in transit again. Eventually it turns up 3 days late looking like its been run over.

Graphista · 02/05/2019 20:06

How do they get away with being so shit?!

Bloody ridiculous!

Retailer now saying to wait ANOTHER 5 DAYS while they try and figure out what's happened! Ffs!

OP posts:
Graphista · 02/05/2019 20:33

Retailer following me saying that's unacceptable now saying they'll have info in 24-48 hours and it was sent to wrong depot!

Seriously why the fuck do retailers use them when they're so Fucking useless!!!!

OP posts:
WeirdAndPissedOff · 02/05/2019 20:37

Because they're cheap. I have a relative who "works for" Hermes - he's self employed, works 60 hours plus a week, and is paid for 40 hours at £7.50 per hour.
They treat their staff like shit, the customers not much better, and the packages are wrecked half the time, but because of that they can undercut the competition.

Graphista · 02/05/2019 20:56

But surely it's a false economy if it puts customers off using your company, in refunds and costs of time in dealing with unhappy customers who've been let down? Makes no business sense!

I refuse to get anything delivered by Hermes anymore, if it's coming via Hermes I won't buy it. I would much rather pay an extra quid for postage and actually receive my parcel.

I did manage to get through to someone on webchat OP you could try that in the morning. If you Google Hermes webchat it should come up and then look for the little blue circle with their logo on on the screen and click it.

Cookit · 02/05/2019 21:01

Sometimes I check on a company’s website which courier they use (some websites say and some don’t) and deliberately avoid if Hermes.
Also they should offer you choice. Hermes or pay £1 more and get sent by Royal Mail or DPD. I’d always pay more for a courier other than Hermes.

Actually Yodel too. Everything I’ve had via Yodel has been signed for only but they don’t care and just leave whatever it is outside the front door.

CKWattisthemanager · 02/05/2019 21:05

I no longer buy from companies that use Hermes. Ask before you place an order. If everyone did this they would die on their inefficient ass overnight.

EggysMom · 02/05/2019 21:05

Just before Christmas I sat on their live-chat for over three hours until I got a human to speak with. It didn't help, they're no more use that the autobots.

Graphista · 02/05/2019 21:10

The "live chat" when it's working (keeps crashing - presumably from all the pissed off customers trying to use it!)

Is merely automated also getting no more info there than from using the tracking link!

OP posts:
OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 02/05/2019 21:11

It's so annoying when you can't speak to a person but occasionally it pays off. Wink

It was either Yodel or Hermes (I can't remember now which one) that delivered a case of wine to our house by ringing the door bell and abandoning the box on the doorstep, legging it before we could answer the door.

The wine wasn't for us so I tried to find a number to phone so the courier could come back and deliver to the correct location but of course there was no number so not a lot we could do.

We left it thinking that they'd come back at some point when they realised their mistake ... but they never did Smile Wine

Graphista · 02/05/2019 21:12

Ckwatt - I agree but can't get dd to mind this which is pissing me off and I'll be discussing with her again! It's too bloody awkward using such an unpredictable service. Unfortunately they do seem to be used a lot by the companies who's main market is youngsters.

I'm guessing those companies used by older folk (who are wise to sucj nonsense) know better than to piss off and potentially lose customers by using them.

I need to get in touch with Hemmes

YouFellAsleeep · 04/11/2019 13:41

I’ve been trying to get hold of them too. Delivery was due on Saturday, it went “out for delivery” then it was cancelled due to fault apparently and will try next working day. I assume that’s today but the tracking still says “sorry we couldn’t deliver today” (as in Saturday). I just want to know if it’s coming today!

YouFellAsleeep · 04/11/2019 13:44

Just realised this thread is from May 🤦‍♀️ Although I didn’t resurrect it so take no responsibility! Grin

Nat6999 · 04/11/2019 13:58

Hermes(or Herpes as they are known in this house) have got to be the worst couriers in the country. I used to have a lovely local lady who always put her phone number on the sorry we missed you cards & couldn't do enough for you, now we never get the same person twice, they don't wait long after knocking, if they knock at all. I'm disabled & it can take me a long time to get to the door. I now collect in store if I order from Next because Hermes are so bad.

Frustratedmum74 · 26/03/2021 11:34

It would help if there was a phone number for hermes that lets you speak to an actual person, There are some issues netbots just can't resolve.

PrelovedWithValue · 26/03/2021 11:37

I'm sure op will find that very helpful, nearly two years later...

TungN · 26/05/2021 10:13

Its a Robber. I sent few parcels and they are not deliveried. I have tried to contact Hermes . But just digital robot replies. The parcels shows on the way me but over 2 weeks. Another parcel shows damaged and no returns to me???? Its so annoying with Herms service. Please do not use Hermes they will take your items
