My DD (7) is invited to Build a Bear for her friends birthday, and the mum is taking them both. I know the place is really expensive, with plenty of add/ ons. Should I send her with some money? Would that be expected? Or would it be insulting? I honestly can't tell!

Thanks!

It's a birthday party. It will (generally) be paid for by the other parent.

You could actually ask the other parent just to double check.

Fatbutt · 02/05/2019 11:48

If its a birthday party, the party organiser/parent of birthday child decides what bear/accessories are included - we gave a choice of 2 bears and an extra accessory of our choice for each - A couple of parents stayed and bought some additional clothes after the party but most of the kids were happy with what they had included

You could send extra money, but it may cause issues if sue buys something and mary wants it but doesn't have the money...

I would just say to the parent, would you like some money towards it and see what they say?

PamPooveysCow · 02/05/2019 17:26

Thanks all, it's a party just a trip to the shop. I think I might be a bit weird about talking money Blush

Sorry, NOT a party

No. I wouldn't.

stucknoue · 02/05/2019 17:34

I wouldn't unless explicitly asked. You can always buy extra bits on another day

Vomitquestion · 02/05/2019 17:38

I'd just text the mum asking 'does she need any money?'

Someone had a build a bear thread recently. Kids crying all over the place. Do check whether money is expected. In the other thread, kid was expected to smile and watch while someone else got a bear and they went home empty handed. I'd give the mum 20 quid for a bear personally
