No AIBU, here for traffic.

Can I get a full screen done at the Gp surgery or do I have to go to the clinic at the hospital?

Anyone know?

When my ExH was cheating, I went to my GPs' surgery for some of the reasons you describe above. They could not have been more empathetic or discreet. Please don't discount this option, which may be easier for you logistically.

Im pretty sure my GP don’t offer it, but, I will call them now and ask thank you.

They only offer chlamydia testing for under 25s, I have to go to a clinic.

I don’t think I am going to bother though

I wouldn’t hesitate in doing it. Chlamydia is incredibly nasty for women in particular and also common.

I suppose every GP is different but I have had a full STI screening through the GP in the past. STI clinics are fairly easy, you just walk in and ask to be tested. I’m sure you can do this while your DC are in school? Get a taxi down if it’s too far to walk.

It really is vital you get checked. Sorry this has happened to you Flowers.

I can’t, my youngest finishes at 12.
It’s just not possible to do walk in

@ewyuckmen I’m a practice nurse. I can offer limited STI screening - I can swab for chlamydia, gonorrhoea, general bacterial screen which would pick up thrush, strep B etc. I can take bloods for HIV, Hep B and Hep C. You don’t need to make an appointment with the GP, my patients can book straight with me.

If you spoke to a receptionist she may have been referring to the self swab chlamydia programme, which is only available to 25 year olds. However I will see anyone of any age.

Hugs to you mate, I’ve been where you are and it’s shit.

*under 25 year olds.

You sound angry & rightly so !
Can your husband book a day off work as holiday to mind the children, so you can attend the clinic ?
Or
Start at the GP and see where that leads you ref tests (when children are at school?)
You and your health must take priority
Take care
