I’ve been given £500 to spend on my son. There is so many things he needs so hard to decide on something . I’m thinking a holiday ? Or sensory toys ( he has autism )
Just wondering what you would do as would love to hear ideas .
Also ideas of fun short breaks away in this country

Keep it in the bank so I could easily buy the items he needs for his hobby without worrying. He's also autistic and a holiday would be a waste of money for us.

How old is he? My eldest ds has ASD and hated holidays until he was grown up more or less.

NotSoThinLizzy · 01/05/2019 18:59

What about turning his room into a sensory type room with light ect like a calm cave type thing? Would he enjoy a climbing frame for the garden?

He’s almost 8

Commission a carpenter to build a mid-sleeper bed with a den underneath? (Or buy one - GLTC do one I think?)

School Uniform for next year.

cadburyegg · 01/05/2019 19:36

A holiday/weekend away
School uniform
Summer clothes
Shoes
Save for Christmas/birthdays
Childcare!

In reality we would probably do a combination of the above.

My son also has autism, I'd get private 1-1 swimming lessons as he's not coped with the rise to a higher level in the group ones.

£500 would be very welcome towards paying almost a year of them weekly or longer if twice monthly.

Bedroom makeover. Both boys are autistic and they need better use making of the space available to them. Some paint, better curtains, some bunk beds and some storage would all make the world of difference for them.

Thankyou everyone some great suggestions there . I’m going to have a good think about what way best it will benefit him

£100 on Premium bonds.
Lessons or equipment for a favourite activity.
A toy or game.

I wouldn't be spending it on school uniform unless the wolf was at the door.
