To ask you to stop me worrying

Apologies in advance for posting for traffic!

Ok, so I am 99% sure I am being totally unreasonable but still, I'm worrying.

Was just eating my sandwich at work and took two bites that had a slightly odd taste, and then when I looked there was green mould on the bread. I can be a little neurotic about food/food poisoning and it is definitely a trigger for my anxiety disorder - eating this isn't going to cause any problems right? Could it make me sick? I'm 32+4 weeks pregnant if that makes any difference.

I don’t think you need to worry at all. I’ve had anxiety issues about food too, so I get where you’re coming from just needing to have it confirmed that you’re safe!

But I don’t think a couple of bites of off bread will hurt in the least—just taste nasty and leave you short of your lunch.

I’m sure you’ll be ok. If it makes you feel better, I once bought a carton of juice from the shop when pregnant, had a glass as soon as I got in and it tasted really odd. It was months out of date! I was similarly pregnant and spent the next hour brushing my teeth and drinking water to ‘flush it out’. Had zero ill effect on me or the baby.

It's just mouldy bread. Tastes nasty but will not give food poisoning.
You could have just pulled off the mould and eaten the rest. Will not hurt either of you.

Thanks. I knew I was being silly, but I still needed to hear other people telling me I was!
