Car tax. Anyone work for DVLA?

Not a aibu but need answers quick! My car tax is due today so I went online to tax it last night and choose to pay DD. I've set it up but it says the first payment isn't due till 15 May, does this mean I'm taxed or do I still need to tax it for the next 6 months?

I've googled but can't find an answer.

It is taxed.., I did mine that way about 18 months ago with no issues

I think it’s fine, because you’ve set it up and they can take the money. The system will show that.

It’s fine, you’re taxed. It usually says that you can drive the car straightaway and don’t need to wait for the payment to be taken.

It does say in the confirmation email that you do not have to wait for the first payment to be taken to use the car on the road.
