Tilt table test, has anyone had one? I am nervous

Have to have this tomorrow because of fainting/ light headed-ness. Worried I'll feel as bad as I do when I have a really rough episode, when I also tend to puke.

Anyone had one or had a family member have one, or know much about what they're like?

I've had one and I'm not going to lie they're not nice. I got my full symptoms and almost was sick myself so you have my empathy. The plus side was it helped them diagnose 2 heart conditions (with an echo too) that I now am able to manage day to day. And I am around 2 years clear of a blackout (with the exception of once while pregnant!) If you can take someone with you for afterwards and I would recommend taking something like lucozade. It really helped me afterwards.

Also be prepared to feel quite achy for a day or 2 as it's a lot of monitors etc they strap you to, and if like me you do blackout your body is held upright still which puts a strain on you physically.

Ah bugger, it doesn't sound nice at all! I'm glad you're doing better now though @User, 2 years since passing out sounds great.

Did you feel pretty out of it for a while after? My partner doesn't live in the UK, so can't come with me, and I've left it too late now really to ask anyone else. Had mixed up dates and appointments and thought it was an echocardiogram tomorrow and the tilt table another day.

I also can't have anything like Lucozade as type 1 diabetic. Planning on taking it easy in whatever hospital cafe there is with a coffee for a bit after though.

I went on my own, on the train and I was fine. I fainted completely and took a short while to come around. They keep you lying for ages, then sitting, then standing and then make you hang around in the waiting room afterwards. I was fine after a long nap, a snack and big drink and back at work the next week.

^^meant to say the next day not week!

I went to mine on my own, it was fine, but mine for dizziness and so I didn't faint on the table. I went back to work afterwards.
