Close family member always likes to think of herself as the matriarch dispensing wisdom to the plebs.
Bought a mothers day gift for my kids to give me ( without their consent) because it's something she enjoyed. Now keeps referring and asking when I am going to use it??? Well, I don't want to be rude but it 's totally not me and actually I wouldn't ever have chosen it, and neither would kids..
Also has history, buying things no-one wants and gifting it to them cos she thinks it's a good idea/ nice book/ lovely CD Tec etc.
Very controlling, always likes her own choice of meet up place, time, and guilt trips or strops of she,s thwarted. Sets people against each other then dives for cover and enjoys the aftermath.
Rarely has a good word for anyone, puts people down a lot behind their backs, to others. Has said negative things about me to my dd's making them very uncomfortable. Has tried to get me to 'side' with her against others in differences ( and surely visa versa)
Getting worse as she gets older.
WWYD?
What's all that about???

I have a family member like this. Just keep your distance! Keep meet ups, information and contact minimal but civil or even friendly /breezy.
