On the 5th of march i applied for universal credit, i have 2 dc under 10 and my SO is unable to work due to sevear but hopefully tempory disability. I work part time and earn under 6500 a year.
I entered all my details and booked an identity interview where they check your passport. I requested a home interview for my partner as he was home bound and was told a request with the visting team would be sent , I was told this would take 2 weeks.
I watied the two weeks and then called back , as I had had my interview by then and wanted eveything to be sorted , they assured me everything had been sent and asked me to wait a few more days.
A few days later after hearing nothing i rang back and was told that an urgent request for a home visit would be made.
When i still heard nothing i rang again only to be infomed after a month of waiting, that a refural had never been made in the first place, they then did the referral but was told this could take two weeks.
My partner was then admitted to hospital ,we were told he would be there for at least two weeks , I rang them to inform them of this and was told that until a visit could be done we wouldnt recive any money . This was now 5 weeks without money and i was starting to panic.
By a miracle i arranged a identity interview for my partner at the hospital ,4 days after an extremely serious operation, but because the hospital was 1 hour from my house it was carried out by someone from another counsil.They had to send the forms to my counsils office to be verified and put on the system. This was last Tuesday since then i have rung them twice every working day but as it stands the paper work has not been verified by my case worker to authorise my payment
My wages come in tomorow but will instantly be swallowed by direct debit.
WIBU to go to there offices tomorow and refuse to move untill the relevant documents have been uploaded and the payment authorised.
