To think Manager would have a back to work meeting?

So I've been on Maternity. 1st day back was yesterday. I never had a return to work meeting, manager wasn't even there when I got in. She never spoke to me all day, apart from when I had finished and was leaving. She said she never spoke to me because "I needed to get stuck in" - the ways things are done are completely different and she is also a new manager from when I left.
AIBU to think she should have done a back to work meeting rather than shove me in the deep end?

She's a shit manager. If my manager had behaved like that when I was off I'd have been looking for a new role. Completely unsupportive.

What is your job? Can't really say without more info. I personally think she should have at least welcomed you back at the beginning of the day especially as she is a new manager and you have never met her. Very odd.

I didn’t get one either. The company had changed a lot in my maternity leave and the manager was new to the role (but there via promotion so I did know them)
It’s really bad form to do this! Could you instigate a return meeting?

Sounds rough. Set up a meeting and know what you want to cover. Is your manager experienced in general and have they got experience in supporting return to work employees? Definitely not covering for them because I don't think they've behaved appropriately at all but sometimes they don't realise it's even an issue and wouldn't have a clue how to best support someone on their team in this situation.

I'm a receptionist, so front of house. And with things being different it's hard to get use to the new way of doing things! I've met her before but purely because I'd heard on the grapevine they cut my hours and never informed me so I emailed to complain about it. I've emailed a few times with no response that I've had to chase up and I've had a reply 3 weeks after my first email.
