Aibu to be worried about the comments?

I have 4 children. 10 and under. Found out I am pregnant. The last year of our relationship has been rocky because of career change on his part. However last 4/5months weve sorted it. And things are fantastic..

Now I'm not worried about the relationship, or coping with the baby, or anything. I am worried about other peoples comments and opinions. It seems as though people feel like they can say whatever they like when ur pregnant. And it scares me! How should I handle it?

Ignore them.

People will always comment but it says far more about them than it does about you.

With DC1 I got comments like what a shock we were going to be in for. Then with DC2 who was a girl I was congratulated for producing one of each and told that my work was therefore done, no need to have any more now. With DC3 I was asked why when we already had the matching set, did I know there's not a third type, how full our hands were going to be with three under five, how it was unfair on DD2 to make her a middle child. Then with DC4 I was asked if it was on purpose, do they all have the same dad, did we not have a TV, etc.

Basically people are dicks.

I had soooo many comments with #4.

Brush them off. People say stupid things because they don't know what to say.

I always respond with 'I have figured out what causes them now and I won't be doing that again.'

Seems to satisfy them and make them smile a bit.

Yeah my forth my mum was like what am I guna do now? Iv never asked her once to look Fter my children in all 10 years. Theyve never stayed away from home unless for a sleepover at there best friends etc. We finance them, look after them, work as a team never cal in sitters. Makes me feel useless tbh

@4andAbit you are not useless! You sound like a great mum. We are the same, love our kids, don't farm them out to others, DH works hard. We are a very happy (and tired 🤣) family.

FWIW, our kids would love one more, but I am finished (they keep asking though!).

A large family full of love, is a lovely thing.

Good luck to you. X

I have 5 and yes some people are rude, the people that matter won’t give a shit, the people that give a shit don’t matter. Congratulations 🎈
