WIBU to ask for an exchange?

Did a local shop and was loading the car when I realised milk was leaking. Thankfully just a few drops had escaped which saved me the nightmare that is trying to getting rid of sour milk smells in fabric!

Anyway, I went back to the shop and explained that the milk was leaking and could I have a exchange.

She looked at my receipt and said “it’s 60p”. And I said yes. At which she looked at me as if I had 2 heads and said that she couldn’t do an exchange as they weren’t getting any more milk in that day but would give me a refund if I really wanted. So I said “yes, that would be fine”.

WIBU to ask for the refund? I mean I know it’s only 60p but I didn’t get what I paid for which was a non leaking carton of milk! The way she looked at me so incredulously made me wonder if most people would have just sucked it up and she couldn’t believe how petty I was being!

Yanbu asking for an exchange. The refund perhaps a bit but I’d have done the same once I’d already asked for the exchange and doubly if the assistant was rude.
