To feel like a waste of space

Yet again I've bought the 'wrong' easter eggs. They are milk AND dark chocolate. Stupid. Kids won't eat those. Why didn't you just get cheap milk eggs? You got the wrong ones last year. When will you learn? Why don't you remember?

Sounds so trite but I get completely overwhelmed when things like this happen + just want to curl up + die. I feel worthless + stupid. It's not even as if my kids are kids - they are 21, 19 and 16!

Help!

I am also having chocolate doubt. The 19 and 17 year old aren't up yet but this year I bought them slabs from Hotel Chocolat. That's not an egg is it?

Maybe we could pick up something in he sale tomorrow!

Your children at that age should not be making you feel worthless...if they are doing then they are selfish and don't deserve the treat bought them...next year don't bother, but yourself an egg that you want and make sure you are happy.

Yes, I agree at that age the DC should just be greatful for what they get and you are not a 'waste of space'.

Have they got you an egg?

If your first paragraph is your internal voice, you seem like you might be depressed and would benefit from therapy to deal with the negative self talk. If your first paragraph is a description of what your husband/partner is saying to you, you’re in an abusive relationship.
