To go or not to go?

I don't know if anyone has information on this, I'm so confused!
I have a 9 week old DD. For background I had a bad infection in labour and so we were both on antibiotics for 5 days after birth, but she was always with me and appeared well. She also had a slight temp after her jabs last week but nothing unexpected.

Anyway, we were hoping to visit family today. A close family member had a hip replacement and has ended up with a strep infection weeks later. He's now on IV antibiotics (but at home). The antibiotics are long term-up to 12 weeks! Outside of his appointment he is allowed to act as normal (go out for dinner etc) and has NOT been told to stay away from certain people/that he is infectious.

Am I ok to take my baby to visit? (At home of course-not hospital). His consultant says yes, my HV also says yes. However I've seen online that a baby can catch GBS later on.

WWYD?

That's a tough one. If the professionals are telling you it's ok, but your gut says no, then you will be at odds. I personally would not go, because, if it was me, I would be feeling anxious before, during and after. Are you able to visit for a little while alone? And leave DD at home?
