Has anyone made a SAR to police?

What information was requested from you in order to provide the information?
I've been advised to make a SAR to police in relation to an incident before I can proceed with anything further in relation to said incident.
They've come back to me saying that they need to know all addresses I lived at for the period of the request - I can't recall one address, and the information I'm looking for pertains to that period.
I've given them details of the area the address was, but told them that I don't have the address. Do you think they'll proceed? Or will they need the precise address? I have a very unusual name, so the likelihood of two FjFs living in the same general area is almost nil.

Can they refuse to provide me with any information whatsoever if I can't provide a full address history?

If they can find your information they must provide it to you (there are some complicated exceptions to this but they almost certainly won't apply).

If you don't provide the address and that means they aren't able to find the data then obviously you won't get that bit.

What they've said in the email is this:

"The reason that we are contacting you for this information is that we need to ensure that we only provide you with information that relates to you and do not risk disclosing information that belongs to a third party; we have to be fully satisfied that we have identified the correct record (if any) on the Police National Computer."

Join one of the credit score sites for the free trial. It will show your addresses.

Not if I've never used the address on anything.

Can you find the address by looking for the property on Google Street view? I needed a 10 year address history for the police which included my student addresses. Couldn't remember one of them but knew where it was/how to get there so Google Street viewed the road and house number and then googled the road name for the postcode

You see I was accused of a crime (the one I'm interested in finding out about) and I was also a victim of a crime whilst living at a different address. I can't recall either address. I've only just recalled the victim one since posting this. But I suspect that has popped up, and maybe that's what is throwing them.

When I made the request I presumed it would only pull up the thing I've been accused of/arrested for, but I suppose it might also pull up crimes I'm been a victim of.
