Do you use your cup at night?

I'm on my third month of using menstrual cup. 1st month wasn't that great as on my heaviest days i was at work and my cup runneth over ( grim ) even with changing every 3 hours. 2nd time was better ( used with reusable pads as back up. 3rd time ( this time ) I'm getting up 3/4 times a night ( as concerned about leakage even with pad ). Am wondering whether am just better off using cup during the day . Wondering what other people's experiences are.....

It does take a few months to get used to it. I do wear mine at night. I used to double up with pads as well, although I don’t need to worry about that anymore. Are you still getting leakage at night? If so, so you think it’s because the cup was full, or maybe more of a positioning issue?

Thanks for the reply. Maybe I bleed more heavily at night?

Yes, use mine day and night, no overflow problems.

Panda - personal question. How heavy are you and how many times do you need to change throughout the night please?

My periods were really heavy (since had ablation - hurrah) and sometime my cup leaked day or night but I was prone to flooding.

Your periods sound very heavy tbh.

I think I'm peri menapausal. This one is nearly 3 months late. Used to be every 28 days for years. These last 3 have been a lot heavier and longer though......

I wear mine with reusables for back-up. It is full by the morning, but with pads I would have to double-up. Even with the super duper night time pads. I can make it through without emptying, so maybe not quite as heavy. During the first day it is full after 3 hours.

I have to empty my cup every 1-2 hours (sometimes 3) on my two heavy days. I wear period pants those days and nights as back up. I usually need to either be up very early or at least in the middle of the night. Period pants are better than pads imo. I use cheeky wipes ones but I think there are better, more comfortable brands out there. I was changing a super tampon every 30-60 minutes so the cup made a big difference to me. I just flood all the time. It's very tiring.

Any recommendations for period pants ( I've read that Thinx are not that great ...)
