we have a water leak it would appear in our car as the driver footwell carpet is slightly wet, dh thought it was coming from the winscreen so we got the windscreen replaced. He had taken some of the interior trim out of hte car and that has been lying around the car for weeks on end. Today he has taken it to his friend who has a specialist Land Rover garage, he has removed the A post (side of winscreen) to see if he can see where the water problem is and cannot get the post back on. Dh has weirdly accepted this and has driven home still with leaky part and with even less trim on car. I feel like im driving a prototype .

Hi JP, just wondering, does your car have a sunroof?
I used to have a Saab 900 and we used to get water in the footwell and in the end they found out it was a blockage in the side drains around the sunroof recess.
They basically had to flush them clean with a hose.
Otherwise has he checked the door seals? or sometimes water in the footwell can be caused by a problem with the heating/cooling system leaking.
Hope you find the cause soon

Sunroofs are notoriously bad for leakages! I had a Renault Laguna that did exactly the same as your car does; my husband knew it was the sunroof as it was all it could be. Also, if your car is a Land Rover they are one of those vehicles prone to costly niggles. Take it from someone who married into a Land Rover dynasty!

Take control of your car! Don't let him mish about with it - take it to the garage yourself. I find this extremely funny because I used to have all the same stuff until I bought my own car. When there's a problem now, I take it straight to the garage and pay them whatever it takes. Men just never like to ask anything. I really showed him up in Halfords one day asking what was the right windscreenwiper for our car. What? Ask the assistant? Never!

Could be the air con leaking, or the air vents loose, or the sunroof, or a burst screen washer pipe...... could be just about anything and unless your tightwad dh is a land rover mechanic he's not really going to know where to start!

well the water is clear sonot from airconditioning or from washer bottles so definitely rainwater from somewhere. As it happens he did used to run the area at landrover which did the water testing he thinks definitely windscreen
