To ask the neighbours to fix their security light?

The neighbours directly opposite have a security light that shines into our living room and bedroom. It's never been a problem before, but it seems to be faulty and is now switching on and off all night. It's very powerful and the constant on- ing and off- ing is stopping me from sleeping - check the time of this post!
We have never seen them in the 7 years we have lived here - TBH I wouldn't recognise them if I walked past them.

AIBU to knock on the door and ask them if they'd have a look at it?

Or just head to B&Q and buy black out blinds for the rooms at the front of the house?

YANBU

YANBU just go and ask them, they may have no idea that it is faulty. Once people are inside their house of an evening who really takes notice of their own security lights ?

Yanbu at all.

Alicewond · 15/04/2019 01:48

Nope if mine was doing this I would be horrified, and very apologetic to you

MontyPants · 15/04/2019 02:09

YANBU. Just let them know. They probably have no idea. And if they’re dicks about it, then go and buy the blackout blinds and the just secretly hope they get a huge electricity bill from the stupid light or something Grin

YANBU AT ALL! DH once smashed one as it was shining straight into our bedroom and waking up the baby every time a mouse/leaf/blow of wind set it off.
