To think my husband should see a doctor

My husband has had scalp pain for the past few days, yesterday the pain started to spread and it is now coming down his forehead, into his temples and in one eye. I’m not generally a drama queen but think this needs checking, he on the other hand has his head firmly in the sand and doesn’t think it warrants being checked. He has a strong family history of strokes and heart disease.

He really does need to be seen. When you said about the pain going into the temples and eye my first thought was temporal arteritis. I'm not a Dr or medically trained but those symptoms most certainly would worry me

100% he bloody does. Why would he not?!

Any sign of a rash? I only ask as i had shingles on my face/eye last year and it started with just pain that slowly spread before the rash appeared.

Menopausalmadness · 14/04/2019 15:41

No rash, just pain which he describes as throbbing and it’s only on his right side.

yes he should definitely see a doctor - does it hurt more if he pulls on the hair where the pain is? This happened to me and they investigated my eyes too.

It does sound like it could be arteritis. The potential effects of delayed diagnosis are really worrying. I'd think about calling 111 and see if he needs seeing today.

Menopausalmadness · 14/04/2019 15:47

ittakes2 yes it hurts more when he pulls his hair.

It could be a cluster headache. They are classed as a medical emergency so yes, he should see a doctor.
