that Next launches £22 jeans in 'in-between' sizes 11, 13, 15 and 17 for perfect fit
I love jeans but have struggled ever since having my first child, when a size 12 became just that bit too tight but a 14 too big.Another 4 kids later and now a 14 is a bit of a struggle to squeeze into but a 16 slides down, even with a belt. So I am thrilled that we inbetweeners are now being catered for and hope that other retailers follow suit.

Clothes sizes mean nothing. Even in next a size 10 can vary vastly.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 13/04/2019 19:50

They need to do away with dress sizes altogether and just use measurements in cms/inches.

BlackPrism · 13/04/2019 19:52

Doesn't mean much when I'm a 6 in Zara and a 10 in Topshop 😂

AuntieDolly · 13/04/2019 20:08

And next jeans are a 16 when you put them on and more like a size 20 within 10 minutes!
I'm constantly hoiking them up.

Aprillygirl · 13/04/2019 20:14

Oh God so where do you girls buy your jeans from then. because I am sick of having to make do with leggings and jeggings?

M&S had alternate sizes years ago, I had a size 11 interview suit.

Back to M&S, they do a range of jeans to suite body shape, as do a big Primark.

AmIRightOrAMeringue · 13/04/2019 20:22

I dont normally shop in h and m as they never normally have my size (12ish) and I find their clothes dont wash well however after my first baby I got a few pairs of jeans from them - high waisted and come in inch sizes waist and length. Took me about an hour of trying on but got 3 pairs and still going strong a few years later

StormBringers · 13/04/2019 21:21

Meh. I went to next and tried on two size 12 tops, one huge, one right. Size 12 jeans, 3 pairs ranging from not being able to do them up to room for a second arse. All I want is consistent sizing, I’m not even asking for consistent between shops, just within each shop.

Lungelady · 13/04/2019 21:24

That's why I buy Levis...31 inch waist

TooMinty · 13/04/2019 21:26

Even actual quantifiable measurements mean nothing - I'm a 26" waist in Topshop but 24" in Gap...

bilbodog · 13/04/2019 21:34

M & s still do alternate sizes - no consistency in the sizes of their jeans and trousers that are the same size/length are all different! Drives me mad.

Holidaycountdown · 14/04/2019 01:30

My favourite jeans are diesel and Ralph Lauren (tk maxx at around £40 a pair) waist and leg in inches and no gaping waistbands!

grincheux · 14/04/2019 02:08

I find Next sizes come up ginormous anyway next to other brands. I'm all about the Primark stretchy high waist jeans at the moment!

RebootYourEngine · 14/04/2019 05:34

All of my jeans are from Primark.

I agree about varying sizes. Surely sizes should go by measurements so there is consistency.

leasedaudi · 14/04/2019 07:02

I'm considering taking a tape measure next time I go shopping. To measure the waistband before I bother trying it.

But I'm a weird shape and what fits my waist is too small for my butt. So I have to buy a larger size and have the waist taken in.

Breathingfire · 14/04/2019 07:24

Ooh I didn't know next were doing this! Great! In my town it's next or tesco 😥 I've been wearing next 12 as thats what fits my tummy after two kids but they hang off my non existent bum. An 11 will be so much better, great thread to wake up to

Fruityb · 14/04/2019 07:27

I will give the 15s a go as it’s the size I’ve been since 18 lol. I’m 36 now and live in jeggings or chinos because jeans are either too small or I have a huge gap at the back!

Agree with above about next jeans - they fit you in the morning then two of you in the evening! I don’t know what goes on there.

lljkk · 14/04/2019 07:35

Sounds like you need 'curvy' jeans, Leasedaudi. Where /how much does it cost you to take the jeans in? I end up wearing a belt.
