Prompted by a several recent threads that contain things like "that's the worse thing you can do"

When/where did this madness start? Is it regional?

It's just incorrect as is loads of other stuff in fairness

I think it started when they let thick people post here.

Well, I mean technically there's probably lots of worse things you could do, whereas there's only one worst thing. I'd just reply with a long list.
