AIBU to think we can afford to rent a flat?

DP and I are in our mid-twenties and have been together 6 years. Most of the time we've been together, we've been sharing a room together in house shares with strangers.

I'm fed up with not being able to relax and feeling cramped and I want to rent a small flat that's around 1k per month (bills not included). With bills, I expect it would be around £650 each.

DP does not seem terribly keen. He earns £1400 per month and I earn £1500 per month, although I recently moved up in my company so should be earning a bit more in a few months. No children or pets.

Money-wise, I just have an overdraft of £1k I'm slowly paying off, no student debts, and an ISA account containing £5k savings. DP has no savings.

AIBU to think we can afford it???

I'd say you can afford it. Is affording it his only concern or is there others?
