First of all this is not lighthearted at all as I am so angry!

A bit of background
My DH is obsessed with chewing gum.. he does it from the time he wakes up to the time he goes to sleep. It is an addiction for him and I guess I have learned to put up with it (every time I look at him he looks like a cow chewing chewing chewing).

What I hate even more is that I am constantly finding the chewing gum (new) everywhere. It is his job to ensure that there is no gum in his clothes that he places in the hamper (I don't check them).
Well DH did a wash last night and obviously there was gum in his pocket. When I took clothes out of the dryer this morning there was gum spread through the machine and it was dried into it and impossible to get out.

I hate his addiction! I want him to quit!
We have talked about it before and he tried but can't. I realise this is a first world problem but I honestly want to know AIBU to insist my husband quits chewing gum?

YANBU to make him check that gum is removed from his pockets before laundry.

YABU to want him to stop chewing gum.

Urgh does he chew with his mouth firmly closed?

If not, that would be divorce for me!

If he chews with him mouth open, I probably would have killed him in his sleep already. Seeing people chew gum with their mouth open makes me seriously ragey. Justifiably so.

To be fair to him he does keep his mouth closed and there is no noise but the constant chewing ahhhhh
