I was being really nice and encouraged him to go for a few drinks after work with his mates as he has been working really hard and is wonderful to me. But he still isn't back and I know he'll be drunk by the time he comes home and he'll end up annoying me. How can I stop myself from getting arsey when he gets home? I just called him to tell him I was starving but he didnt answer - this alone made me mad!
I try to be really nice and chilled but I can't see it through!! I turn psycho half way through. Any tips for staying chilled?

ConnorTraceptive · 12/07/2007 19:45

order yourself a nice take away, save him some for when he gets home, have a bath and an early night.

YABU

order a pizza, open a bottle of wine, and enjoy some time alone!!

why would you be psycho ?

CountessDracula · 12/07/2007 19:47

poor him

I think you should chill out about it
If you say go for a few drinks and he does and then you give him a hard time for doing what you said then he will feel very hard done by IMO (and quite rightly)

As you say he works hard and is wonderful to you. Why not have a couple yourself so you are more more relaxed when he comes in and he won't annoy you so much if you have had a couple too!

it's only a quarter to eight

unless he finished work at midday i hardly think he's taking the piss, tbh

CountessDracula · 12/07/2007 19:48

my dh not even home from work yet (no drinks involved!)

Maybe I should yell at him when he comes in for working hard....

Biglips · 12/07/2007 19:48

BUT you cant have a go at him if you told him to have a few drinks......so dont get wounded up or he thinks thats not fair

Have a glass of wine and get a takeaway and watch telly you wouldn't be able to watch without him moaning

And don't you dare moan at him when he gets in!

mylittleman · 12/07/2007 19:52

You're right. He totally deserves a night out and it is early too. I am going to be so nice when he comes home even if he does stink of booze and is all loved up. Right, time for a glass of wine...
