I've got hand foot and mouth

And I'm bloody miserable.

This has got to be one of the worst viruses I've ever caught in my life.

Not only do you get the flu for a few days, it gives you the illusion all is better before BAM body covered in painful blisters.

Bloody itchy too. Arrrrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhh. It's like having flu and chickenpox at the same time.

I caught it whilst my 7 month old son was on the children's ward for several nights last week with a bladder infection. So I didn't even catch it off my own child, which I feel a bit miffed about lol.

Now I'm without my baby and it's day number 4 and first night apart from him ever.

Anyone else had it? How long will this last? What stage am I at? Tips on stopping the itching?

I had it. Knocked me out cold for 3 weeks and then another 2 or 3 till I felt Reasonable. Horrendous illness and far far worse to adults than kids.

Poor you op! Having tough time with lo in hospital and now hand foot and mouth!
I haven't had it but my lo has and doctor said it lasts a week to ten days after blisters have come out!
So fingers crossed your coming to the end of it now!

I sympathise. I caught it 3 years ago and it was without question the sickest I have felt in my adult life. Dd had a few spots in her chin... After the flu like symptoms my feet were in tatters, hands not much better. Was about two weeks I think before I felt human. But I had holes in my finger and toenails for months til they grew out. Hope you feel better soon.

I'm fairly sure my 2 year old has it. Wouldn't be so bad BUT his sister had her tonsils removed last week so now I'm panicking she will get it before her throat is better
