Leather look leggings

Champagnetaste · 30/03/2019 22:54

On impulse I bought some red leather look leggings from next a few months ago. At age 38, size 12 5ft 9 am I too old for these?

I’ve put them on a few times but not actually left the house with them on.

Planning to wear with a black over sized T-shirt and with black Chelsea boots or black trainers

Too old in whose opinion? I say wear what you like when you like! I would cut stone dead anyone who spouted ageist shite about anything worn by anyone - it’s just bullshit! Wear your leggings!

CardsforKittens · 30/03/2019 23:05

Wear them! Wear them! Wear them!

Champagnetaste · 30/03/2019 23:18

I think I’m having some sort of mid life crisis as totally questioning everything about myself at the moment 🙈

Nah you're fine! I'm 39 and last year wore pvc leggings on stage. Own it!! No doubt you look amazing!

SnowyAlpsandPeaks · 30/03/2019 23:29

Go for it!

I’m 38 have black leather look leggings from Karen Millen. I’ve worn them sooooo many times. They are my go to now lol

HelloDarlin · 30/03/2019 23:33

I don’t think it’s age, really. Are they your personal style?
Leather look leggings are not something I’d ever buy, especially red. Have you worn anything like them before?

babysharkah · 30/03/2019 23:36

I think they're hideous regardless of age but if you like them, wear them!

HundredMilesAnHour · 30/03/2019 23:49

I'm 49, 5'9 and wear leather or leather look leggings at least once a week, including to work. I've travelled all over the world in them. It never even occurred to me that I might be too old.

Go for it OP! Wear them!

wizzywig · 04/04/2019 19:47

So theres not an age limit on leather leggings? How do you wash them?

MitziK · 04/04/2019 19:51

Not too old at all. Wear what you bloody well like.

But don't do what one muppet I did did a few years back, which was come in from a night out and fall asleep on the brand new cream leather settee overnight in summer.

The excess dye came off my legs, eventually. But the brand fucking new settee? Nah.

EdWinchester · 04/04/2019 19:51

Too old? I am 10 years older and live in coated jeggings at work, and I have ultra skinny leather look ones for evening.

I look fab in them Grin

wizzywig · 04/04/2019 19:58

Can you post a link, ive seen ones in zara but they are cheap (£12/13) so i dont know if they are bad quality.

DantesInferno · 04/04/2019 19:59

I bet you look awesome!

Cuddlysnowleopard · 04/04/2019 20:01

I've got exactly the same ones, in red and in black. I'm 47, and I wore them all over winter - sometimes with jumpers and boots, but also with a tight top and heels at parties.

smoothieooo · 04/04/2019 20:03

Today I received my Cos real leather leggings in black that I splurged £250 on. They look bloody fabulous ... and I’m a week shy of 52, 5’8 and a size 12. I’ll be wearing them at any given opportunity Wink

Bubba1234 · 04/04/2019 20:05

Wear them! The outfit sounds so funky

VladmirsPoutine · 04/04/2019 20:48

Never too old for anything. Except hot-pants which don't look good on anyone, any age, any size.

ShirleyPhallus · 04/04/2019 20:50

They only look good if they’re thick enough you can’t see cellulite or camel toe

The Spanx ones are really fantastic

managedmis · 04/04/2019 20:52

I'm really not a fan

User24856 · 04/04/2019 20:57

I’m 37 and love my leather look leggings! I work bloody hard in the gym, I do heavy weight training (or did - but I’ll get back to it after my baby is born) so love high waisted tight fitting jeans that show off my bum 😁

Mine are black though, I don’t know if I’d be bold enough to wear red but you’ll be dressing hem down a bit with your black T-shirt, so go for it! 😁

CaptainButtock · 04/04/2019 21:04

Love the sound of the outfit.

Bit jealous now..... aren’t they a bit sweaty/sticky to wear tho?

EngagedAgain · 04/04/2019 21:04

If you like them that's all that matters, but you would be a brave woman to do the supermarket shop in them 😬 where are you planning on wearing them? They would be great for a night out.

KC225 · 04/04/2019 21:07

50 wearing them with long grey jumper (still snowy in Sweden). 38 is still a baby
