User70001 · 29/03/2019 22:37

Even if it’s only one ring?

MyKingdomForBrie · 29/03/2019 22:37

No.. it's turned off.

Heismyopendoor · 29/03/2019 22:38

No because it’s off?

swapsicles · 29/03/2019 22:39

Run out no, kind of impossible I'd have thought but the action of it ringing when it's really low on battery might just be too much power and so switch off mid ring.

TheDuckSaysMoo · 29/03/2019 22:40

No, but if it is really low on battery - e.g. 1% - it might ring once then die. But it wouldn't ring at all if it was already dead.

itsabongthing · 29/03/2019 22:40

Unless you mean does the other person hear a ringing tone when they call up?
If that’s the question then yes I think mine does a couple of rings before it goes to answerphone even when it’s completely dead and the actual phone itself hasn’t rung. Does that help?

User70001 · 29/03/2019 22:41

Yes I’m referring to the rings the other person would hear.

Clear as mud then

wombat1a · 29/03/2019 23:13

If my phone battery is dead then DH has told me on occasion that it still sounds to him that it is ringing.

BumbleBeee69 · 29/03/2019 23:15

No, you would get a message telling you the number you are calling is not available, or Voicemail.

Catmum26 · 29/03/2019 23:21

no it would go to voicemail

aLilNonnyMouse · 29/03/2019 23:21

My OH is forever forgetting to charge his phone. When I call it I hear normal ringtones forever until I hang up (no voicemail).

notharryssally · 29/03/2019 23:26

Yes I think the other person might get one ring

DanielRicciardosSmile · 29/03/2019 23:32

I don't know to be honest, but would imagine not. Could you switch your phone off and then try ringing it from a landmine or someone else's mobile to find out?

DanielRicciardosSmile · 29/03/2019 23:32

*landline - I definitely wouldn't recommend phoning from any kind of explosive device, it sounds very dangerous.

HeartShapedLocket · 29/03/2019 23:35

If the battery is completely flat then no, it can't ring.

chaoscategorised · 29/03/2019 23:36

My phone does exactly one ring then voicemail when it's off!

ItStartedWithAKiss241 · 29/03/2019 23:37

“Unless you mean does the other person hear a ringing tone when they call up?“
This happens when anyone calls me and my phone is dead. iPhone is that’s relevant. Not very impressed dp thought I’d rejected his call but it hadn’t even rang as my phone was off once x

aliceliddel · 29/03/2019 23:39

mine (three network) does one ring and abruptly cuts into my voicemail. People often think im hanging up on them sometimes i am

happinessischocolate · 29/03/2019 23:49

Mine does and so does my fella's, his will also ring when he's in a bad reception area and won't even register the call.

julensaor · 29/03/2019 23:57

Mine will always go to voicemail if rung out of charge and so will my DPs

julensaor · 29/03/2019 23:58

Intrigued as to why you ask?

LooksBetterWithAFilter · 30/03/2019 07:06

Dh is often out of range during a work day and his will do a ring then cut to voicemail.

caughtinanet · 30/03/2019 07:21

It possibly depends on the phone, the network, the coverage where the phone is at the time, maybe you could be more specific about what you're azking
