I used to find that new woman whatever her hame is incredibly irritating simply because of her voice (the one who had a 60th party the othr night) but now I'm warming to her.

Couldn't agree more about Alice. She has me shouting at the radio every time. Makes me feel almost sorry for Brian.

I was v v sad about Siobhan dying and leaving that little boy motherless. Sob.

I was crying every time the Archers came on when Siobhan died

I agree, I always want the Bert scenes to hurry up so they can get on to something juicier - Adam and Ian adopting Rory, for example, or Alice seducing Alan the oh-so-dull vicar.

Alice needs a damn good kick up the arse, imo.

And Lillian is a heroine of mine. "Come on, tiger, have another drink". She's witty, cutting and a lush - the best bet for a great night out in Ambridge!

The Bert and Nigel scene really dragged tonight but no-one can irritate me quite like Tom

Over the last couple of years I've listened infrequently but I swear every time I've listened Tom's been moaning about his damn sausages!

Also the Ruth/David situation gets on my nerves - he constantly makes her feel guilty and storms off in black moods as a result of her non-affair, conveniently forgetting that he did exactly the same thing first.....grrr! Another candidate for a swift toe in the pants.

Did you hear Adam telling Alice what for tonight? In RL I'm sure she would have stormed out long before he got to the end of his spiel.

Alice is seriously getting on my wick. Mulcho spoilt brat. Has rory (ruidhi sp???) got a weird accent or is it me? And how come he never comes out with any German - he's lived there all his life except the last few months. I've wondered if Adam and Ian would adopt him. We are hearing a lot from 'Peeeep' recently - especially as she seems to have developed an interest in cows. What's happened to Daniel (who also has the weirdest, slightly American accent, ever)? his medical problems seem to have faded into nothing as have smug Shula and Alastair's blip disappeared (probablly to be resurected when the cricket is over).

I do find the Archers deeply irritating in some ways but can't stop listening to it. I definately think it has addictive qualities.

Is Bert Fry still alive? Very irregular listener. Alice very annoying, and Lillian is fab.

Ruari is played by a little boy from Dublin - so has the right accent if Ruari had spent more than about one month living there rather than in Germany. What has happened in the tedious Fallon/Ed (non) romance - I keep missing it?

Agree with OP - Bert is simply the most irritating character in the show. Can cope with everyone else (though Alice has been a total pain lately and I was cheering for Adam yesterday) but why can't someone just shut Bert up? He's so annoying and he goes on and on...

Love the way Nigel sounded as if he would willingly have chewed his own arm off to escape the other night! (Though his own fault for encouraging 'bard' Bert in the first place.)
